Roberta Conigliaro was born in Siracusa where she lived till 1989. Later she moved to Rome where she attended university and got a degree in Psychology.

At the same time she starts working with clay. Her first sculptures are created starting directly from the block of clay and “taking away” till she obtains the desired shape.

Later on she shifts to working with stone..

She has been taking marble sculpturing courses in Carrara learning both hand and machine technique.

Besides marble, she starts using other types of stones, like travertine, Lecce stone and, above all, soap stone.She has been exhibiting her works since 2002.
